Marc Edge arrived at T.R. Miller in 2004 and has worked with the Tiger defense since that time. Coach Edge is the outside linebacker coach and serves as assistant head coach handling a number of administrative duties as well as providing a voice of experience for Coach Riggs. A graduate of Thorsby High School & Samford University Coach Edge earned a degree in Religion and History and teaches World History at T.R. Miller. He has 22 years of coaching experience including stints at Montevallo, Daleville and Robert E. Lee High Schools. He also served as Head Coach of the Daleville Warhawks from 1998 - 2000. His wife Becky is the guidance counselor at T.R. Miller and they have four children Erin, Keaton, Katie and Marc Jr.
Eddie Brundidge is in his second tour of duty with the T.R. Miller Tigers and works with the Tiger offensive line. He served as assistant coach at Miller from 1995 - 1997 before leaving to become the Head Coach at Jackson High School for six seasons. Coach Brundidge is a graduate of Dozier High School and Troy State University where he was a star running back for the Trojans and a member of the 1981 National Championship team. He has worked as assistant coach at Woodham High School in Pensacola (1988) and Jackson High School (1989 - 1994). He returned to T.R. Miller in 1994. Since 2006 he has also served as the Tiger Head Track Coach, winning boys state championships in 2006, 2009 and 2010. He also served as head coach of the girls team which also won the 2010 State 3A Championship. Coach Brundidge and his wife Sybil have two daughters Leah and Moriah and he works as a physical education instructor at Brewton Middle School.
Coach Chris Baxter is the Tiger Defensive Coordinator as well as the defensive back coach. He also serves as assistant basketball coach. Coach Baxter is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and Auburn University where he earned a degree in Secondary Science Education. His coaching experience includes assistant coach at Robert E. Lee High School, Central Coosa and Beuregard. He served as defensive coordinator at all three schools. Coach Baxter works each spring as one of the best baseball umpires in the state. He and his wife Angel have three children - twins Tyler and Payton as well as their youngest son Mac.
Coach Jim Hart has been a T.R. Miller man for a long time. He first arrived at Miller in 1974 and served as Tiger assistant until 1984. After a four years in the business world he returned to Miller in 1988. Coach Hart serves as wide receiver coach for the Tigers and has been the Miller baseball coach since 1993. He is a graduate of Evergreen High School where he played football for his father and spent one year at Sparta Academy as an assistant in 1973 - 1974. His wife Nancy recently retired as teacher at Brewton Middle School. They have two children (John & Kelly) as well as three grandchildren Troy and Miller Hart, and Ella Adams.
Rob Atkinson works with the Tiger linebackers as well as Head Cross Country Coach and assistant track coach. He is a graduate of Oxford High School and Jacksonville State University and teaches Physics and Chemistry at T.R. Miller. He served as assistant coach at Bremen (GA) High School and Walter Wellborn before coming to T.R. Miller in 1999. He worked as varsity basketball coach and middle school football coach for nine years. He and his wife Lisa, who also teaches science at T.R. Miller, have two boys Hayden and Nolan.
Paul Smith wears a lot of hats at T.R. Miller and has since his arrival at Miller in 1997. He works as English teacher at both T.R. Miller and Brewton Middle School. Coach Smith is Head of Football Operations for the Tigers as he organizes fields, travel and equipment as well as many other issues for the team. He also works as assistant middle school football coach. Coach Smith is a graduate of Slocomb High School and Samford University where he was a member of the Samford National Championship team of 1971. He worked four seasons at Straughn High School before coming to Miller. He serves as Tiger tennis coach and he and his wife Janice have four children Nolan, Neal, Luck and Ginny
A graduate of T.R. Miller High School Coach Greg White returned to the Tigers in 2005 and serves as head volleyball and softball coach. He works as video coordinator for The Tiger football team. Coach White is a graduate of The University of Alabama and teaches physical education at Brewton Elementary School. He has also coached at Tuscaloosa Academy and Sheffield. He and his wife Kim have two children Anna Grace and Adam.
Coach Gerald McAnally works as Head Middle School Football Coach as well as assistant track coach. He arrived at Miller in 2007 after spending a year at Hillcrest High School He and his wife Sharon have three children Caleb, Michael and Chris. Coach McAnally is a graduate of Escambia Academy and Auburn University in Montgomery.
Ron Jackson is assistant middle school football coach as well as the Tigers Girls Basketball Coach. Where he has made numerous trips to the State's Final Four and won several State Basketball Crowns. Coach Jackson coached as Pass Christian (MS) High School, Monroe County High School and Keith High School before coming to T.R. Miller in 1990. He is a graduate of Dallas County High School and The University of Southern Mississippi where he played basketball. He and his wife Gwinn have three children Felicia, Deanna and Wade.
Johnson, a former Miller player, has recently taken on the position as assistant football and assistant basketball coach. Johnson, a graduate of Tuskegee, spent three years as assistant coach at Opp High School before spending the 2010-2011 year as defensive back coach in football and head boys basketball coach at Stanhope Elmore. Johnson was a 2002 Miller graduate and is returning to coach wide receivers for the Tigers and assume play calling duties for the offense. During his playing career at Miller, Johnson played wide receiver and defensive back in football as well as basketball and baseball. Johnson will also teach history at T.R. Miller.
Mike Miller begins his second year as the T.R. Miller Certified Athletic Trainer. He serves all Tiger athletic teams and his service is provided by Encore Rehabilitation and D.W. McMillan Hospital. He is a graduate of The University of Alabama where he received a B.S. in athletic training. He is a graduate of Central High School in Florence. Mike and his wife Cassie were married this past June.
Still going strong in his mid sixties, Andrew “Zeke” Johnson has been overseeing the equipment needs of Miller athletic teams since 1974. He is the most recognizable face of T.R. Miller High School and has become a tradition in himself. The Tigers honored him in 2004 for his 30th anniversary with the team, and the equipment room in the Miller fieldhouse bears his name. No matter who the opponent, Zeke always believes that the Miller Tigers will find a way to win. He still stays active working two jobs (Jernigan Nordmeyer Tires, Billy’s Barber Shop) and playing a round of golf when weather will permit and you will pay for the cart. He has loads of family and many of his nieces and nephews have been outstanding players for the Tigers in all sports. Zeke has his own personal doctor (Billy Whittle), his own personal barber (Terece Shehan), and more friends than anyone else in the city of Brewton. He is one of the top attractions at Homecoming each year and continues as the Tigers secret good luck charm. During his tenure on the Miller sideline, the Tigers have had only three losing seasons. He is truly one of a kind and a legend in our community.
