Still going strong in his mid sixties, Andrew “Zeke” Johnson has been overseeing the equipment needs of Miller athletic teams since 1974. He is the most recognizable face of T.R. Miller High School and has become a tradition in himself. The Tigers honored him in 2004 for his 30th anniversary with the team, and the equipment room in the Miller fieldhouse bears his name. No matter who the opponent, Zeke always believes that the Miller Tigers will find a way to win. He still stays active working two jobs (Jernigan Nordmeyer Tires, Billy’s Barber Shop) and playing a round of golf when weather will permit and you will pay for the cart. He has loads of family and many of his nieces and nephews have been outstanding players for the Tigers in all sports. Zeke has his own personal doctor (Billy Whittle), his own personal barber (Terece Shehan), and more friends than anyone else in the city of Brewton. He is one of the top attractions at Homecoming each year and continues as the Tigers secret good luck charm. During his tenure on the Miller sideline, the Tigers have had only three losing seasons. He is truly one of a kind and a legend in our community.
